We are pleased to invite Elementary and Middle school students attending Grades 3 to 8, in the Bay Area schools to register and participate in the STEM4ALL Math Contest 2026. The contest will take place at Fremont Downtown Event Center on May 17, 2026

Event Schedule:

  • Registration: 10.00 am to 10.30 am

  • Contest Time: 10.30 am to 12.00 pm

  • Virtual Award Ceremony - Date, Time, and Link will be posted on May 18th

  • Award certificates will be emailed to all students

  • Participation certificates will be provided to all students on the day of the event

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Math Contest 2026

1.  Which grades are eligible to participate?

Students attending Grade 3 to 8 in academic year 2025-2026  are eligible to participate in this contest

2.  What is the objective of this competition?

Our goal is to encourage student interest in Math and problem solving with such competitions. Students can expect to spend their day solving  interesting Math problems  by participating in a fun-filled tournament with other students. 

3.  Where this competition will be held?

The contest will be held on May 17, 2026 at Fremont Downtown Event Center. 

4.  What is the competition format?

 

Students can participate in this tournament as a team of 1 to 4 students. Student teams will compete in three rounds as:

 

a. Sprint round - This is an individual round. Students have 40 minutes to solve 30 math problems without a calculator 

 

b. Team round - Students can compete in this round in a team of 1 to 4 students. Teams will get 20 minutes to solve 10 problems. Calculators can be used in this round.

 

c. Relay round - This is also a team based tournament. Students can participate in a team of 1 to 4 students. Students will get 10 minutes to solve 5 problems. Calculators are allowed in this round.

 

       

5. How is scoring done?

  • Sprint Round: 10 points for correct answer, 0 point for incorrect and no answers

  • Team Round: 10 points for correct answer, 0 point for incorrect and no answers

  • Relay Round: 10 points for correct FINAL answer. 0 point if the FINAL answer is incorrect or unanswered

6. Can I participate individually or do I need a team to participate?

Yes, you can participate in this contest individually. Sprint round is an individual round for all participants. For Team round and Relay round, it is recommended to have a team of 4 students.

 

7. What is registration deadline?

 

The registration will close when seats are full or on May 10, 2026 whichever is earlier. 

8. When do I register my Team?

 

All students must first complete individual registration.

Note - We recommend to create a team of 4 students to compete in the team and relay rounds. Students who do not have a team may need to compete individually in the team/ relay rounds or can pair up with other students at the tournament who do not have a team.

9. Are parents allowed to volunteer?

 

Yes, we appreciate volunteering support by parents. Kindly sign up the volunteer registration form if you would like to support. Parents are not allowed to proctor the test.

10. How should students prepare for this contest?

Students must revise their grade level topics with emphasis on word problem solving skills. We also encourage students to practice Math Olympiad, Math League problems for Elementary grades, and Math Olympiad/ Math League/ Math Counts / AMC 8 problems for middle school grades

11. Are there any awards for participants?

 

There are awards for Individual and Team rounds. 

Individual Award Certificates: Top 50%, Top 25%, and Top 3

Team Award Certificates: Top 3  (Scores for the Team Round and Relay Round will be added for the Team Awards)
